About this site and how to use it

Physics 9630 Hub covers the four written units of the OxfordAQA International AS and A-level Physics (9630) specification. Each unit is split into chapters that follow the specification sub-sections, so you can revise one topic at a time.

How to revise a chapter

  1. Read the revision notes. Start with the “What you need to know” checklist (taken from the specification), then read the notes. Pay attention to the Key equation, Exam tip and Common mistake boxes.
  2. Use the interactive diagrams. Change one variable at a time and predict what will happen before you look.
  3. Watch the video if a topic still isn’t clear.
  4. Do the past-paper questions on paper, under timed conditions where possible (about 1.5 minutes per mark).
  5. Mark your answers with the official mark scheme in the Mark schemes tab. Tick each question “Done”.
  6. Finish with the practice questions, then mark the chapter as revised. Your progress is saved in this browser.

Where the questions come from

The past-paper questions and mark schemes were cut from the published OxfordAQA 9630 Unit 1–4 question papers and mark schemes (June 2017 to June 2026 and the specimen papers). Each question is filed under every chapter it tests, so a long question that covers two topics appears in both chapters. Some questions draw on more than one topic. If you think a question has been filed under the wrong chapter, use it anyway; it is still good practice.

Videos

Each chapter embeds a YouTube video chosen to match the topic. The videos belong to their creators and are shown with YouTube’s standard embed. The site uses youtube-nocookie.com and only loads the video when you press play.
